Salary: €85,000 – €90,000

Travel: International travel required

Company Overview

A privately managed German company operating around 30 multipurpose vessels, mostly older than 15 years, with a total DWT of about 580,000 tons. Their fleet serves global ports and is maintained under standard safety and quality certifications.

Role Overview

The Technical Superintendent will oversee the technical management of assigned vessels, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards. The role requires close collaboration with the fleet management team and frequent international travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the technical performance, maintenance, and repair of assigned vessels.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company safety policies.
• Plan and supervise dry-docking, repairs, and inspections.
• Monitor budgets and cost control for vessel operations.
• Work closely with ship crews, providing technical support and guidance.
• Conduct regular vessel visits and audits.
• Liaise with classification societies, flag states, and other regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience as a Technical Superintendent in an office-based role.
• Strong knowledge of multi-purpose and coaster vessel operations.
• Understanding of international maritime regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to manage budgets and technical projects efficiently.
• Willingness to travel internationally for vessel visits and inspections.

Work Arrangement

• Full-time office-based role preferred.
• Hybrid option available (three days in office, two days remote).
