Position: Senior Satellite Constellation Architect

Location: Munich, Germany

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and simulation of a low earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation.
• Analyze link budgets, conduct simulations, and perform access and coverage analysis with Ground Stations.
• Ensure the constellation meets technical requirements, customer needs, and performance goals.
• Stay updated with technology trends and advancements in the space and satellite industry.
• Develop simulation models and plans for satellite constellation planning, optimizing performance, data rate, and quality of service.
• Perform coverage analysis to ensure global coverage and identify gaps.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and integrate the satellite design with ground and payload segments.
• Analyze critical factors such as antenna steering, beamforming, tracking, and throughput.

Profile:

• Strong understanding of satellite link budget computations, antenna beamwidths, RF amplifiers gain, rain fade, and atmospheric loss computation.
• Experience in designing satellite constellations, particularly in LEO.
• In-depth knowledge of satellite subsystems and architecture.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with simulation tools like Keysight SystemVue, Matlab, etc.
• Master's degree in engineering with 5+ years of related experience.
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements and drive progress.
• Experience in documenting analysis and system testing throughout satellite constellation development.
