Our client in Hamburg is looking for a Yacht Manager to join them, who ideally has some prior knowledge in the Yacht industry.

You will ensure that the resources are available for the smooth and safe operation of the yachts in their yacht management.

The mission:

  • Manage IT system for files, tasks & fleet communication.
  • Oversee crew procedures with agencies & crew (selection, documents, contracts, insurance, travel).
  • Partner with finance for budget monitoring, spending approvals (VAT, invoices, payments, cash).
  • Be primary contact for crew, owner, regulators (class, flag), shipyard & subcontractors.
  • Ensure smooth communication with internal departments (accounting, engineering, compliance).
  • Organize & facilitate technical support for the yacht.
  • Collaborate for certification & insurance (insurers, classification societies, flag states).
  • Provide office-based support, solve problems & make decisions.
  • Support acquiring new contracts & cross-selling company services.
  • Implement future security systems (ISM/ISPS) & integrate with emergency response team.


Your profile:

  • Excellent communication & diplomacy skills across all levels: UHNWIs, captains, shipyards, regulators, & subcontractors.
  • Strong problem-solving & multitasking abilities.
  • Willingness to travel: ~10 trips/year (2-3 days each).
  • Fluent German is a MUST in order to work with the team and customers efficiently.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Desirable
    • Strong understanding of the superyacht industry.
    • Economic and legal acumen (technical knowledge not required).
    • Working knowledge of maritime regulations (ISM/ISPS, SOLAS, MLC, STCW).
    • Previous yacht management experience preferred.
    • Experience in yachting/shipping (ideal candidates have similar roles or managerial sea experience).
    • Additional language skills a plus.
    • Familiarity with yacht operations and procedures.
    • Comfort with financial statements and reporting.
