Darwin Recruitment are currently hiring for a Product Assurance (PA) Engineer for a space company in the Netherlands who are a high-tech European developer and manufacturer of satellite control sub-systems and components, with over 40 years of experience in the aerospace industry. The company specializes in space propulsion and mobility, producing a wide range of products including attitude and orbit control systems (AOCS), avionics, thermal components, pressure transducers, flow meters, cold gas systems, sun sensors, and reaction wheels.

It is a technical function where the control of the design and production processes together with the verification of the requirements are the focal points. The function can vary greatly from assisting in verification checks, till contributing to company policy and process management:

* PA manages project related matters as Project specific Product Assurance plan, Parts, materials and process requirements, EEE component requirements, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) requirements

* PA is responsible for Configuration Management of the product

* PA is responsible for preparing and managing RFD’s, RFA’s and PAD’s

* PA has a proactive role in realizing an optimal relationship with the customer’s PA Managers as chairman of the many review boards: MPCB, PCB, RCB, MRR, IRR, TRR, TRB and DRB.

* PA manages non-conformances and chairs the Non-conformance Review Board (NRB).

Key Responsibilities

* Manage PA requirements in design, development, operation and test phases

* Assure closure of RFDs, RFAs, PADs, NCRs and RFW before review milestones

* Identify and help solve problems that pose a risk for product quality and safety

* Participate in project meetings and audits

* PA has an active role in validating hardware suppliers of flight parts or flight hardware-related services. In order to do so the PA will, independently, perform audits

* PA provides input for tenders in the area of compliance to Bradford’s, customer’s and regulatory requirements

* PA is responsible for organizing, managing, and closing Key Inspection Points (KIPs) and together with the customer Mandatory Inspection Points (MIPs).

* PA is responsible for capturing and managing the design through a CIDL. PA acts as “Configuration Manager” at product level

* Perform RAMS analyses

* PA provides input to the Project Lead and/or reports the status of PA aspects as part of the project specific progress report

* PA is responsible for capturing the as-built product through a ABCL.

* PA is responsible for all PA documents and Data Packages after the design reviews until delivery. PA acts as “Documentation Manager” at product level

* PA is responsible for the overall design-verification of the product through a VCD

Essential skills

* Operate on Bachelor level

* Able to operate in a high workload situation

* Able to quickly switch between assigned projects

* Able to overview the whole project process from proposal to End Item Data Package (EIDP)

* Able to overview the whole production process from raw materials to system integration

* Able to overview the applicable company, customer and regulatory requirements

* Able to read and interpret technical drawings

* Proficient in MS Office including MS Visio

* Good communicator with all levels of the company, suppliers and the customers

* Knowledgeable on materials and manufacturing processes

* Knowledgeable on verification processes / testing

* Knowledgeable on Electrical, Electronic and Electro-mechanical (EEE) components

* Fluent in the English language, both verbal and in writing
